The Heart of Bhakti Across Generations | 3-Minute Read

This Navaratri was truly heartwarming. There was something so special, so pure, about seeing all generations, especially the younger ones, immerse themselves in their bhakti with such devotion. From the traditional practices passed down from our elders to the modern touch of social media, Navaratri this year was a vibrant, soul-stirring celebration of faith, culture, and community.

Watching the flood of WhatsApp statuses and Instagram posts filled with devotion, the joyful TikToks showing off beautiful outfits, each honouring the specific colour for that day, and the incredible setups of the Kalash in homes across the country, was nothing short of inspiring. It was a beautiful reminder that faith isn’t fading; it’s evolving and thriving in new ways, with younger generations embracing their bhakti with open hearts.

Seeing families, children, teens, young adults come together to worship, dance, and celebrate Maa Durga in all her glory felt like a bridge between the past and the future. It gave us hope that the spirit of Navaratri will carry on for generations to come. That despite the distractions of the modern world, our youth are keeping these ancient, sacred traditions alive and vibrant.

But as we move into the rest of the year, we offer a gentle reminder to our Shakti Bhakti family: Let’s not let the spirit of Navaratri fade away. As the festive season approaches in December, with all its glitter and bells, let’s not flip 180 and forget our bhakti. Our faith, our connection to the divine, is not just for nine days. It is something to carry with us every day, every season.

The beautiful spirit of Navaratri  should continue to live in our hearts long after the celebrations are over. Let’s hold on to that devotion, that love, and let it guide us through the rest of the year and into the new year. After all, bhakti is not bound by time or season…it is eternal.

With love and light,
The Shakti Bhakti Family
